Pricing, Honestly
No "call for a special today-only price." Here are the actual published ranges, what moves the number up or down, and how to tell if a quote you got elsewhere is reasonable.
If you've called around Austin for window quotes, you've probably gotten wildly different numbers for what sounds like the same job. That's not always a scam — window pricing genuinely has a lot of moving parts. Here's the honest breakdown.
These are honest published bands, not a quote for your specific house — your real number depends on the factors below, and only a free written estimate gives you the actual price.
A small bathroom window costs a lot less than a two-story great-room window wall. Bigger glass, more panes, and unusual shapes (arches, bays) all add cost.
Vinyl is the value default for most Central-Texas homes. Fiberglass costs more but holds tighter seals in extreme heat — worth it on big west-facing openings. See our vinyl vs. fiberglass breakdown for the real trade-offs.
Standard double-pane Low-E is the efficient default. Triple-pane adds cost and is worth it mainly for noise reduction or extreme comfort goals, not required everywhere. See our plain-English Low-E explainer.
If your existing frame is sound, an insert replacement (new window set into the old frame) is faster and cheaper. If the frame is rotted, warped, or you want a real efficiency upgrade, full-frame replacement costs more but does the job right.
Hauling away old windows, plus any exterior trim or stucco repair around the new opening, adds line items that a bargain-basement quote sometimes leaves out — until it shows up as a change order.
Figures above are honest published bands for Central Texas, current as of this writing. Actual pricing depends on your specific home and is confirmed only at a free written estimate.
